Quill appliee acrylic and opalescent inks on watercolour paper. This original draining is composed of parallel lines of ink that when viewed from a distance reveal the final image.
This New Holland Honey Eater bobbing about on a Banksia was drawn in my folks front garden in Adelaide, South Australia. New Hollands are indigenous to the region, however they have a tendency to be a bully to other birds and have adapted to urban gardens extremely well. I enjoy their constant fluttering and the combination of the apricot and pink Banksia is a true delight in the autumn.
