Leith Semmens will be showcasing his recent drawings exploring the beautiful coast and intertidal zones of Carrickalinga, South Australia.

Semmens' technical and highly detailed drawings use quill pen applied acrylic, opalescent and fluorescent inks, coloured pencils and graphite. Leith uses drawing techniques with influences both with western and eastern traditions to create something new and unique.

It is anticipated that climate change will for ever change our coastal regions. Leith Semmens is seeking to capture and catalogue the beautiful intertidal region of Carrickalinga in South Australia before it is transformed for ever by climate change. It is doubtful future generations will be able to experience the joys walking the long sandy beaches, smelling the seaweed washed ashore while fossicking for shells, or witness the colour changes of sea rocks as the seasons progress.
